Linda Blair was the actress who portrayed being possessed by the devil in the famous and timeless 1973 movie The Exorcist. The Exorcist movie was adapted from the 1971 novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty. William Blatty studied under Father Eugene Gallagher. Father Gallagher witnessed first hand the exorcists that made for the book and eventual movie The Exorcist.
